For Advanced Animation, we had to create a moodboard based off of an emotion we chose at random. My word is apprehension, which means anxious or fear for the uncertain. Due to experience, I had a rather easy time choosing the images and the feeling I wanted to express. For the moodboard, I have my images on top of one another and crowding each other and it’s surrounding one center image. Although it maybe unclear in the image, the center image has a lower opacity to emphasize how the subject to anxiety slowly fades into their own thoughts. The thoughts, which are the images surrounding the center circle, are a range of things, from fear of death to hope that the person who has anxiety overcomes their fears. I have such a wide range because as somebody who frequently has anxiety and anxiety attacks, I know how out of control my thoughts can become and how random they can get.
My inspiration for this abstract animation project is Oskar Fischinger, an animator known for using shapes and music to create a certain vibe. I want to do something similar to what Fischinger did and utilize different shapes and movement to properly describe what an anxious person goes through on a regular basis.
