The caricature project was quite enjoyable. Caricatures, in a few short words, are a satirical version of one’s self. The caricature artist that somewhat inspired me during this process is Max Beerbohm. His caricatures are satirical enough to the point where it’s a bit humorous and real enough to the point where you know who the person is. His caricature work really caught my eye because his work was both animated and had a sense of realism.
I tried to exaggerate my appearance as much as I could. I exaggerated obvious things, such as making my glasses huge and my eyes small. I also exaggerated less obvious things such as my window’s peak and my overbite. I think this caricature project helped me grow as an artist because I believe I’m the type of artist that does exaggerated and animated art better than realistic art and I think this project allowed me to explore that more.
